Terms of Service for Chu Tao

1. Introduction

Welcome to Chu Tao! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chu Tao Discord bot ("Bot"), the Chu Tao web application at chutao.meoverse.com ("Web App"), and the Chu Tao API ("API") (collectively, the "Service"). By using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Use of the Service

The Service provides various features related to HoYoverse games, including but not limited to game profile viewing, character information, wish history tracking, daily check-in automation, redeem code redemption, message translation, and other in-game data utilities. You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws, Discord's Terms of Service, and HoYoverse's Terms of Service.

  • Acceptable Use: You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Prohibited Actions: You may not:
    • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
    • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service or its infrastructure.
    • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, databases, or other users' data.
    • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person.
    • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
    • Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or automated requests beyond normal usage.
    • Share, redistribute, or sell access to the Service or any data obtained through it.
    • Provide false or misleading information when linking accounts or interacting with the Service.

3. Account Linking and Credentials

The Service allows you to link your HoYoverse account to enable features such as daily check-ins, redeem code redemption, and game data retrieval. By linking your account, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Voluntary Linking: Linking your HoYoverse account is entirely voluntary. Core features of the Bot (such as public profile viewing) are available without linking.
  • Credential Handling: If you provide your HoYoverse credentials through the Web App, your password is encrypted client-side before transmission and is never stored by the Service. Only session credentials (cookies) returned by HoYoverse are stored, encrypted at rest using RSA-2048 with AES-256-GCM.
  • Automated Actions: By enabling features such as auto check-in or auto redeem, you authorize the Service to perform these actions on your behalf using your stored credentials. You may disable these features at any time.
  • Credential Refresh: The Service periodically refreshes your stored HoYoverse session credentials to maintain functionality. If a refresh fails, you will be notified via the Bot.
  • Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the security of your HoYoverse and Discord accounts. We are not liable for any consequences arising from compromised credentials that were not caused by a breach of our systems.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including HoYoverse, Discord, Google Translate, Geetest, Sentry, GCP, Enka.Network, and gi.yatta.moe. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any of these services.

  • Your use of HoYoverse services through Chu Tao is subject to HoYoverse's terms and policies. HoYoverse retains full control over its APIs, services, and enforcement actions. We are not responsible for any actions taken by HoYoverse, including but not limited to changes in service availability, account restrictions, suspensions, bans, or other enforcement actions.
  • When you use the translation feature, your message content is sent to Google's translation service for real-time processing. This content is not stored by Chu Tao.
  • Error reports may be transmitted to Sentry for diagnostic purposes, which may include request metadata such as IP addresses.

5. Intellectual Property

All original content, branding, and code of Chu Tao are the property of the Chu Tao project. Game assets, character names, and other HoYoverse intellectual property belong to their respective owners and are used under fair use for informational and utility purposes.

You may not use the Chu Tao name, branding, or any part of the Service to create derivative works or competing services without prior written consent.

6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service's reliability, accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein.
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service.
  • Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through the Service by any third party.
  • Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use of any content made available through the Service.
  • Any action taken by HoYoverse, Discord, or other third parties, including but not limited to account restrictions, suspensions, or service changes.
  • Any loss of game account progress, items, or currency resulting from the use of automated features (check-ins, redeem codes) or any other interaction with the Service.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Chu Tao project and its contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

8. Termination

  • By You: You may stop using the Service at any time. You may unlink your accounts and delete your data through the Bot or Web App.
  • By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms, abuse of the Service, or actions that negatively impact other users or the Service's infrastructure.
  • Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through our official Discord server. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be submitted to the appropriate courts of competent jurisdiction.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
